There’s an unseen peace found in nature, whether walking through a forest, sitting under a tree, or listening to bird songs. The beauty of nature all around brings us to a deep connection with the natural world, the world in which we each are a part of, for we are nature herself.
Each day I take a little time to connect with her and feel natures presence within and all around me. Sitting at my dining table I observe the bird feeder taking delight in watching them eat. It brings me such joy to watch animals eating although the squirrels seem to empty the feeders way too quickly.
When I awake in the morning to the sounds of the birds singing outside my window, I actually smile and start trying to identify the variety of sounds. Sometimes I use my Merlin Bird ID to help me differentiate one from the other. There’s one in particular who’s song is so sweet, soothing and calming. He’s called the White Throated Sparrow. I can picture him sitting in a bush outside my window with its beak turned up to the sky belting out his sweet song, it makes me happy. His song matching the rising sun and the day which brings in new beginnings.
Everyday is an opportunity to begin again. Leave the old behind and embrace exactly who and where you are in your life today leaving yesterday behind, waiting for tomorrow to shine without expectations. It’s a difficulty journey to traverse for life is always throwing us curve balls to throw us off kilt. It’s important to take time to breathe, connect to nature and allow her to restore your soul. Somehow, the things that seemed to be causing endless sorrow will miraculously feel a little lighter encouraging you to stay on your path and keep walking forward into who you are and were always meant to be. White Throated Sparrow
Against the silent backdrop
The sky so blue and high
I feel the whispers of the truth I seek so deep inside
The calling of the birds
White throated sparrows’ song
so sweet with joyful gratitude
I wish to sing along
The birds hold so much freedom underneath their wings
Soaring high low and near with gentle offerings
If we listen closely to their voice
A hidden truth will be revealed
Among the beauty that surrounds can never be concealed
For beauty lies within me
As well as in a tiny seed
From which to grow to sprout to know that beauty is always free
